The Lutheran Church

The Lutheran Church is the largest Protestant Church in the world, with approximately 66 million members living in every corner of the world. The Lutheran Church is the third largest denomination in the United States with more than 9.5 million members.

Good Shepherd is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), a name respected among Christian churches. Our Missouri Synod has 2.5 million baptized members in some 6,100 congregations located in all 50 states.

Together we send missionaries to 50 countries, broadcast "The Lutheran Hour" in more than 54 nations of the world, and televise "On Main Street" over 250 stations. We are proud to be a part of The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod.

Martin Luther

Originally a monk, Dr. Martin Luther sparked the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century with his belief in justification by faith alone in Jesus Christ. It is because of his clear and penetrating voice of the living Gospel that we remember him.
